Recently El Paso County Public Health announced that effective 5:00 pm, Friday, November 13, 2020,
our county will be moving to Level Orange: Safer at Home.

Due to this change, effective today the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region Fall Basketball season will be postponed until after Thanksgiving Break.  At that time we will reevaluate the state and county restrictions to determine if we are able to resume the season. All practices scheduled for Thursday and Friday this week are canceled as well as all basketball on Saturday, November 14th.

We will send updates out as we know more information.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Our sports programs develop more than skills –
they develop character!

We offer a variety of programs for youth and adults, including recreation and league sports. Volunteer Coaches emphasize teamwork, cooperation and developing good values.

EVERYONE PLAYS, EVERYONE WINS!

Sports participation keeps children physically active and provides them with positive development opportunities. At the Y, we promote the development of each athlete so they can reach their highest potential through skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Honoring the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, our volunteer coaches focus on developing character as much as building athletes. That is why we do not conduct tryouts to select the best players, norm do we cut children from our programs.

WHY CHOOSE YMCA SPORTS?

  1. Everyone plays and everyone wins.
  2. We believe teamwork and cooperation are keys to success.
  3. We play fair and respect teammates, opponents, coaches, officials and ourselves.
  4. Striving to win is an essential part of all sports, but winning is only one of many goals at the Y.
  5. Smiling, laughing and good feelings are important.

Focusing on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and values is what sets Y Youth Sports apart from all other programs.

Did you know that basketball and volleyball were invented by early Y leaders?
