The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is hiring already certified lifeguards at the Briargate, Cottonwood Creek, Downtown, Fountain YMCA at Fountain Fort Carson High School, Southeast & Armed Services and Tri-Lakes YMCAs! Candidates must be 16 years old or older and pass a skills exam to demonstrate proficiency in lifeguarding skills. Candidates should apply for the lifeguard position online to be considered.

If you are not currently lifeguard certified, the YMCA will provide you with a training and certification! This certification will be paid for by the YMCA if hired and with an agreement of 90 days of employment. To be eligible, candidates must pass a preswim test and be available during the times of current available lifeguard positions.

To be eligible, the candidate must:

• Complete the required prerequisites for the lifeguarding course, meet all attendance expectations, and successfully obtain their lifeguard certification.
• Remain employed for at least 90 days after my onboarding date (small exceptions for summer guards may be made if communicated during the hiring process).
• Complete onboarding within two weeks of completing the lifeguard class in which the candidate is enrolled.
• Provide the required number of hours of availability for part-time staff at the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region (Note: Providing availability for shifts does not mean a staff member will be scheduled for all of those shifts).

• • Spring/Winter – 10 hours per week, including 2 of the 8 weekend days per month
  • Summer – 30 hours per week, including 4 of the 8 weekend days per month
• 15 years old by the end of lifeguard certification completion and upon submission of application.
