Project Honor

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is proud to serve our military families who call Colorado Springs and the surrounding Pikes Peak region home by offering financial assistance and no cost membership to qualified individuals.

We want to give back and support our nation's heroes. The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is honored to provide a limited number of 50% discount on membership for 6 months to post 9/11 wounded veterans and a limited number of free 6 month memberships for Gold Star families.

Who is eligible for Project Honor?

  • Active duty, reserve, National Guard, or veteran Purple Heart Recipient with a documented VA disability rating and their caregivers residing at the same residence.
  • Gold star spouse or dependent of service member who died in service to our nation.

Proof of eligibility will be determined during your virtual meeting and requires one of the following documents:

Gold Star Families

  • The DIC eligibility letter from the Department of Veteran Affairs
  • If the spouse died on active duty, the DD1300
  • If the surviving spouse is not receiving DIC, the DD214, the death certificate, and if necessary, other appropriate documentation.

Post 9/11 Wounded Warriors & Purple Heart Recipients

Making Military Life Easier.

The Armed Services Y provides free or low-cost programs for junior enlisted military & their families to make military life easier. We make military life easier by providing programs and services to the young men and women of all six armed services: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Space Force. Our three areas of focus - youth development, healthy living and social responsibility - allow us to support thousands of young enlisted soldiers, sailors, and airmen, and their families each year with the help of gracious donors and stalwart volunteers.
