Here is what we are doing to protect your family during covid-19:

General Precautions

  • Smaller team sizes to promote smaller groups and more spacing.
  • Attendance will be tracked
  • No post game handshakes
  • No team snacks
  • Maximum of two coaches per team

We will follow local and state requirements in real time. Currently all indoor spectators and players 11 years and older will need to wear face coverings while indoors.

  • Each team will get a clean set of equipment to start practice and coaches will return equipment to sports staff at the end of practice.

Practice and game times

  • Cohort scheduling will be implemented.
  • Staggered game and practice scheduling to allow time to clear gyms before next teams arrive.
  • We ask that you wait in your car until your practice time and do not arrive to the gym early.

Spectator Policy

Indoor Sports Practices:

Due to building capacity restrictions and those policies put in place by offsite rented gyms, parents/guardians will be using the drive-through drop-off/pick-up process. Parents may walk their child to and from the building entrance but practice attendance will be limited to players, coaches and YMCA staff.

Indoor Sports Games:

One parent/spectator (not including children) per player allowed to attend. 6ft of distance must be maintained between each non-family parent/spectator. Marked signage will be placed to indicate spacing. All non-participating children must remain with their parent/guardian at all times and are not allowed in any other area of the facility.

These policies are subject to be changed or modified based on rental policies at off site locations.

Volunteer Coaches

We rely 100% on Volunteer Coaches here at the Y to teach our youth athletes the fundamentals of the game! We would love to have you out on the court helping the participants in our programs and making a difference in your community. If you, or anyone you may know, are interested in coaching a basketball team here at the YMCA or would like to know more information, please let us know.

The YMCA invites you to join our team of Volunteer Coaches (training provided). Apply today!

Some divisions are association-wide and games may vary in location. Check your schedule for further details.
