Interests and Achievements
- Several years ago I authored the nutrition chapter in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Physical Fitness Manual. I’ve also written several short nutrition articles both for the Y and a local church’s newsletters.
- I faithfully walk my two golden retrievers daily. I love times of laughter with my husband and daughter, as well as time with friends. I enjoy cooking delicious and nutritious meals, when I have time. I also enjoy time alone with a good book.
My Training Philosophy
I believe my primary objective, as an RDN and a CPT, is to educate. My goal is to help my clients and patients learn to make wise and appropriate food/diet choices for themselves and to help them find activities and exercises they enjoy to stay healthy and fit. I do not believe one diet or workout plan fits all, even though there are basic guidelines that do apply to all. If I can teach and motivate my clients and patients to eat sensibly (most of the time), keep moving with activities they enjoy, and obtain and maintain health throughout their lifetime; I’ve done my job well.
