Any person who supports the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility may become a member of the YMCA in accordance with such standards as may be established by the board of directors, and shall continue to be a member unless the board or an authorized agent concludes, in its sole discretion, that a member has failed to live up to the standards and commitment required of members of the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region.Â
The board of directors has determined that persons convicted of any offense that places their name on a registered sex offender list are not eligible for membership in the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region. The YMCA may, at its discretion, periodically review sex offender lists and conduct background checks for this purpose. In the event it is determined that a member's or prospective member's name is on a registered sex offender list, that person will not be eligible for membership.Â
I understand that activities at the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region have inherent risks, and I hereby assume all risks and hazards incident to my participation in all YMCA activities. I further waive, release, absolve, indemnify, and agree to hold harmless the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region, the organizers, volunteers, supervisors, officers, directors, participants, coaches, and referees from any claims of injury sustained during my use of YMCA property or participation in their activities.Â
I grant the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region the right to use my name and likeness in a photograph, filmed production, advertisement, audio segment, or other electronic or print promotional media for the YMCA. This shall extend to all phases of the production's utilization, including publicity, promotion, advertising, and marketing.Â
All membership requests must be submitted through the YMCA's online form, accessible on the YMCA website at ppymca.org or the Pikes Peak YMCA Member Services Desk. All changes to a membership must be completed at least five(5) calendar days before your draft day of either the 1st or the 15th, to take effect for that month.
Monthly memberships continue indefinitely until the member cancels the membership. All cancellations must be completed through the YMCA's online form, accessible on the YMCA website at ppymca.org or the Pikes Peak YMCA Member Services Desk, at least five (5) calendar days before your scheduled draft day of the 1st or 15th to take effect for that month.  Failure to provide a cancellation notice 5 days before your draft date for any given month will result in recurring fees to continue or cancel the service for the following month.
All balance dues on an account must be paid in full before an account can be cancelled.
If you are currently registered in a YMCA program - summer camp, swim, sports, etc., your member discount will no longer apply, and you will be responsible for the difference between the member and non-member program rate. If you joined the Y during a special promotion period and took advantage of early registration for a program, and you cancel your membership before the program starts, your program enrollment may be subject to cancellation.
Members shall be notified of any forthcoming changes to membership rates via electronic mail sent to the primary email address on file at least 30 days before the increase. It is the sole responsibility of the member to ensure that the YMCA is provided with current and accurate contact information, including any updates to their email address.
If a member is going to age out of a membership category, they will be notified 30 days prior to the rate change to the primary email address on file via electronic mail. It is the sole responsibility of the member to ensure that the YMCA is provided with current and accurate contact information, including any updates to their email address.
If a member elects to upgrade their membership type or add additional services or features ("add-ons"), the applicable membership fees will be adjusted accordingly to reflect these changes.
The prorated amount between the date of purchase and the end of the month is due at the point of sale, in addition to 12 consecutive months. The membership is nontransferable or refundable.
The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is operating on a cashless system. The Y offers two easy, seamless, and secure payment options. You can opt for an EFT bank draft or a credit/debit card.Â
By providing your bank draft information, you acknowledge that this is a request to your financial institution. You agree that this authorization will remain in effect until receipt by the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region notice of cancellation. Any charge rejected for any reason may result in a return fee up to the amount available by state law.Â
Changes to the bank account or credit card on file can be made either at your YMCA, by logging into your account, or through the online form on our website.Â
The Y imposes a service fee of 2.75% on all credit card transactions and 2.25% on all ACH transactions, which is not greater than our cost of acceptance. The Y does not impose service fees on debit cards.
You will be notified if a credit card or bank account charge is returned to the YMCA, and your account will incur a $20 processing fee. You are also responsible for any additional costs, including credit card or bank fees imposed by the member's credit card company or bank, as well as possible attorney fees, court costs, and taxes. The membership will be canceled if the dues are not collected 25 days after the return. Electronic debits will be resubmitted up to two times. If charges are not collected, membership will be canceled. All fees must be paid prior to a member's rejoining.
I understand that I must verify my income upon membership application. I also understand that, as a financial assistance member, I must reapply annually, providing updated income verification to maintain my eligibility. Failure to reapply will result in my membership reverting to the full amount. NO Refunds.Â
Memberships may be placed on HOLD for up to 4 months per calendar year. A $10 monthly fee will be charged during the hold period. Your membership will automatically reactivate on the end date, and the monthly draft will resume at your previous rate.Â
For safety, emergency, and security reasons, all members MUST present their membership card or a photo ID at the front desk when using the facility or participating in a program.Â
Exceptions to the above policies may be granted at the Membership Director's sole discretion, based on properly documented exigent circumstances. Otherwise, cancellations, holds, and refunds will not be processed outside of this policy, including but not limited to circumstances wherein (a) the member does not utilize the facility; (b) dissatisfaction with the facility or services; (c) temporary facility closures; or (d) the membership has been temporarily suspended due to a policy violation, as determined in the Branch Executive's sole and absolute discretion (e.g., Code of Conduct violation, outstanding balance, or the like).Â
By signing below, you acknowledge receipt of this policy prior to the transaction taking place and agree to these terms as written.
