The YMCA of the Pikes Peak is proud to bring our members MOSSA: high-quality group fitness classes favored by thousands of members nation-wide. MOSSA provides group exercise classes carefully designed and tested to ensure people enjoy moving and working out like never before. PPYMCA has partnered with MOSSA to bring these dynamic, industry-leading programs to its members, enhancing the group fitness experience across its branches.

GROUP POWER

The most enjoyable way to strength train!

Group Power is a full-body strength training hour that makes you muscle strong and movement strong! Using an adjustable barbell, plates, and your body weight, you’ll experience traditional exercises from the weight room, plus three-dimensional, integrated movement training, for results in real life and real sport. Power is for everyone, and we think it’s the most fun you can have strength training.

GROUP FIGHT

Feel like a superhero!

Group Fight is a challenging, athletic, and motivating thrill ride that will strengthen your entire body and prepare you for any of life’s battles. MMA-inspired cardio training will have you kicking, punching, jabbing, jumping, and sweating your way to your healthier, happier, and ready-for-anything self.

GROUP RIDE

Sweat, burn calories, sweat more!

Hit the road in Group Ride, a fantastic way to improve your cardio fitness, burn calories, and shape and strengthen your lower body. An inspiring soundtrack will be the wind at your back, as you roll over hills, conquer mountains, and fly through flats, and you control the intensity, making this a perfect path for new exercisers or avid cyclists!

GROUP CORE

Train like an athlete!

Group Core is your athletic 360-degree firm foundation builder that will make you stronger, quicker, and faster in all you do. The 30-minute workout will strengthen your body, shoulders to hips, front to back, and side to side, which improves athletic performance but can also reduce back pain and help you move with ease in real life.

GROUP CENTERGY

Enjoy an invigorating experience!

Improve balance, mobility, and flexibility with a lengthening, strengthening hour of Group Centergy. An emotive playlist will inspire you to move through Pilates and yoga-inspired movements, aimed at reinvigorating your mind and body, while building transitional strength and stability.

M4 Programming

Everyone deserves to inhabit a body that functions well, free of injury and restriction. But not all workouts – very few, really – emphasize exercise benefits beyond aesthetics. That’s what makes us different. We create workouts that emphasize Movement Health, which is our ability to move well in all facets of our lives, from athletic feats to everyday essential movements.

Imagine living better, feeling younger, being more physically capable and independent, traveling with ease, building better brain health, fighting disease, and basically having a “can-do” body.These workouts address the needs of the already-fit, sure. But we’re inclusive to new and renewed exercisers, who want to move with competence and confidence.

Music is the heartbeat of our programs, because we know great sound drives motivation and enjoyment for every participant in every workout.

An exclusive arrangement with the industry’s top music producer, Saifam, with 13 music studios around the world, ensures that the highest quality, emotive music drives each group exercise experience. Playlists include the most popular songs from today, complemented by chart-topping hits from the past five decades, to ensure something for everyone.

Whether it is the heart pounding energy of Group Fight, the driving beats of Group Power, or the emotive musical landscape of Group Centergy, music motivates people to move, and move better.

We are a diverse mix of fitness professionals, exercise physiology nerds, life-long athletes, weekend warriors, and avid group fitness participants, each with a unique movement story. And we want to encourage people to move.   

That’s why our coaching aims to motivate rather than intimidate, encourage rather than discourage, and to make people feel connected. But motivation isn’t a one-way street; we believe in the power of together, because a group environment delivers the inspiration we all need to succeed.

Our programming includes an unsurpassed, methodical field testing phase to ensure safety, effectiveness, and enjoyment. Every workout undergoes 150 field test workouts with thousands of participants before its worldwide release. These metrics – real-world feedback – ensure programs will get and keep more people moving.
