Degrees and Certifications
I hold my personal training certification through the NFPT -National Federation of Professional Trainers, becoming certified in the year 2000 An AAS in Criminal Justice, and have owned and operated my own personal training gym for the past 19 years.
Interests and Achievements
I am a Colorado Springs Native, and have lived here for over 50 years. I started bicycle racing at the age of 14, achieving a place on the United States National Cycling Team by the age of 18 years old. I attended the 1990 U.S. Olympic Festival, where I won gold and silver medals.
My Training Philosophy
To me, it’s all about balanced and complete fitness. If a friend calls me and asks if I want to play a game of soccer, football, go for a 30 mile bike ride or climb the Incline this weekend…I never need to question my ability to do those things, because I have the strength and aerobic endurance to do so. I like to take the same approach with my training clientele, so that you need not worry about any physical activity! You can never be too strong or aerobically fit. The above is achieved through balanced nutrition, proper form with strength training, quality rest & commitment to oneself. I am excited to be a part of the Downtown YMCA, and its exemplary staff of personal trainers!
