Summer Day Camp

2026 Summer Day Camp Registration Opens February 16th!

The Y's Summer Day Camp is one of the oldest and most trusted programs in the country. Our day camps provide fun, child-centered activities and opportunities for learning through discovery, and challenge children to grow in imagination, creativity, self-directed initiative and leadership.

Summer Day Camps offer enriching activities based on the weekly theme where friends are made through group games, sports & fitness, hands-on science activities, arts & crafts, and music!

Important Dates

First Day of Camp: May 26th

Registration paperwork will be completed on CampInTouch and due prior to the first day of camp for your child.

(Please note that we will require immunization records to be uploaded. We will also require any medical documents to be completed by a doctor prior to their upload. Documentation and materials for emergency medication will be required at drop-off. Please reach out to us with any questions you have regarding medications and we will be happy to assist you. youthdevelopment@ppymca.org)

Camp Information

Ages 5 - 15

Typical Day

Hours of operation 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Drop Off/Pre-Care Locations 6:30 - 9:00 a.m.
Camp Kickoff/Morning Snack 9:00 - 9:30 a.m.
Core Activities 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Lunch 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
Swimming/Core Activity 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. (swim dependent on location)
Snack 3:30 - 3:45 p.m.
Pick Up/Post-Care Locations 3:45 - 6:00 p.m.

Time

We encourage campers to be dropped off by 9:00 a.m. and picked up after 4:00 p.m. to ensure participation in all camp activities.

Camper Groups

Campers are divided into groups of 10-15 based on their ages. Each group is then assigned to a Day Camp Counselor.

Leadership & Staff

Our staff attend 35 hours of on-site training as well as all trainings required by licensing and the YMCA. Each location has a designated Day Camp Director and 1-2 supporting Directors that are on-site managing camp operations each day. There will also be a Youth Development Program Director assigned to manage the operations of each camp.

Full-Time Rate

Member Rate: $259 per week
Nonmember Rate: $292 per week

3-Day Rate

Member Rate: $188 per week
Nonmember Rate: $221 per week

3-Day Option: Choose your 3 days per week. This option will only be available at the Tri-Lakes and Downtown YMCA locations. (must be a set schedule of the same 3 days per week)

YMCA Camps are operated in accordance with all state and federal policies, which prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, age, disability, religion or national origin.
YMCA Camps are designed to provide accessibility for children with moderate visual, auditory, orthopedic, mental or emotional challenges.

Military Discount

E1-E6 will qualify for a 45% discount toward Summer Camp. This is for active duty, reserve, and national guard.
All military discounts or questions must be requested using our ticket system. You will be asked to verify your eligibility so please be prepared to submit your Military ID or other accepted forms. Submit ticket HERE

Scholarships, Financial Assistance & CCCAP

We understand that families have differing abilities to pay, we pride ourselves in working with and extending the opportunity to all children and families the chance to experience a YMCA Camp program.
Scholarships and financial assistance are available to families who qualify.

We use CampInTouch for registration and the required forms and waivers.
All families will have the ability to complete the registration paperwork at time of registration.
All paperwork needs to be 100% completed and filled out the Thursday prior to the first week of attendance.
Please have immunization documents ready. They will need to be uploaded before paperwork can be accepted.

Camp Program Policies:

  • We require a one-time $65 registration fee per child and a $20 non-refundable deposit for each week due at time of registration.
  • All 3-day plans must have set schedule of the weekdays they wish to attend.
  • Campers must register for one week of summer camp at a time at either a full-time (4 or 5 days) or part time rate (3 or less days).
  • All cancellations MUST occur 3 weeks prior to the first day of the week of attendance.
  • Refunds or credits for partial or single day absences and/or illnesses will not be granted.
  • The balance of each week is due on Monday, two weeks prior to the week of attendance.
  • The Camp Leadership Team reserve the right to make adjustments to fees or policies based on extenuating circumstances.

Enhance your child’s Summer Day Camp experience with Youth Sports Camp add-ons. This is a great opportunity for campers to explore the basics or sharpen their skills in basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball or lacrosse five days a week.

Camp Descriptions

Dodgeball

It’s the game everyone knows and loves, and now your child can throw, duck, and dodge for a full week! Camps will be divided into age groups so younger campers can learn the game while eliminating the fear of playing, while older campers can enjoy the game they’re familiar with.

Football

Our traditional sports camps are a mix of skill development, sport specific skill games, and full sided games. Campers will learn the fundamental skills for the sport, making it perfect for new/beginning players of any age. Campers will have enjoy a mix of fun games related to the sport and then play in full games against similar age campers each day.

Nerf Camp

Grab your Nerf blaster, load it up, and get ready for a thrilling week of camp! We will warm up by honing in on our aim as we practice hitting targets, then we will work up to team games. Campers will work on teamwork as they play nerf games of tag, capture the flag, hide-and-seek and more. Bring your own Nerf Gun or use one of ours, this camp is sure to be a blast! Goggles and Nerf darts will be provided.

Volleyball

Our traditional sports camps are a mix of skill development, sport specific skill games, and full sided games. Campers will learn the fundamental skills for the sport, making it perfect for new/beginning players of any age. Campers will have enjoy a mix of fun games related to the sport and then play in full games against similar age campers each day.

Soccer

Our traditional sports camps are a mix of skill development, sport specific skill games, and full sided games. Campers will learn the fundamental skills for the sport, making it perfect for new/beginning players of any age. Campers will have enjoy a mix of fun games related to the sport and then play in full games against similar age campers each day.

Diamond Sports

Grab your glove and hit the field for a week of baseball, whiffle ball, and kick ball with fun competitions in between! Aim for the fences with a home run derby and show off your speed with a race around the bases. Equipment is provided if needed.

Basketball

Our traditional sports camps are a mix of skill development, sport specific skill games, and full sided games. Campers will learn the fundamental skills for the sport, making it perfect for new/beginning players of any age. Campers will have enjoy a mix of fun games related to the sport and then play in full games against similar age campers each day.

Tennis/Pickle Ball

Perfect for beginners, campers learn to improve their tennis skills on-court, while creating lasting friendships and memories. Your child will learn the fundamentals of the game through drills, games, and friendly competition adapted to age and skill level while practicing sportsmanship in a safe and fun environment. Camp will take place in the gym of your local YMCA using pickle ball nets to teach the fundamentals of both sports.

Track & Field

Lace up your running shoes and take off with our track and field camp! Campers will work on stretching, sprinting, relays, jumping, and various field events. Make sure to bring lots of water for this outdoor camp.

Color War

All campers will be split into teams and participate in a weeklong series of athletic and fun events! Come prepared to lead your team to victory during sporting events and random games each day! The team with the most points at the end of the week will earn a surprise!

Red, white, and FUN! Fireworks and Freedom week celebrates summer traditions with patriotic crafts, classic camp games, and festive activities focused on teamwork, gratitude, and community—all with a safe, kid-friendly twist.

Registration for Explorers will open on March 2nd! We will have updated information available ahead of that date. Stay tuned!

Weekly Themes

Goal of this themed week is to get campers experience with sports & athletics that differ from the main sports offered up by schools. We will be partnering with First Tee, giving the campers golf lessons as well as a chance to play on a real golf course. Other trips will include going to Lost Island for the Ninja Warrior Course & Putt Putt, rock climbing and bouldering lessons with Springs Climbing Center, Bowling tournaments between campers, and swimming at YMCA owned pools. Activities will be focused on teamwork and staying active.

This week includes programming that will help the campers unleash their inner artist. We will be partnering with Cottonwood Center for Arts for their Art Spark Camp, giving our campers a chance to make art with other teens in the area. This week also includes a trip to Meow Wolf Denver to go see interactive art made by local Colorado Artists, a session with Brush Crazy painting pottery and canvases, a day at the Fine Arts Center, as well as attending performances by the Academy of Children's Theater and the Children's Orchestra. Projects and activities will be art themed.

Partnering with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum, Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs Recreation & the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region running an interactive camp involving a focus on Olympic City-Colorado Springs.

Focusing on technology and the practical uses of it within our modern world. From music to movies, campers will get a chance to dive into what all it takes to use technology in a creative way. We will be doing music production & songwriting sessions with the Colorado Springs Conservatory. Also there will be Movie making/ animation sessions with Snapology. This week also includes a Programming & Coding Workshop with the Space Foundation. Projects & activities will be themed around creative and collaborative usage of technology.

This week campers will be going out and experiencing all that Colorado Springs/El Paso County has to offer. This week includes a trip to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum, a day at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with a Zoo Specific Career Tour, Stadium tour and viewing of batting practice with the Rocky Mountain Vibes. To finish the week off, explorers will be hiking through Seven Falls and Garden of the Gods to experience some of the outdoor activities that the city has to offer. Projects and Activities will be based on community service and giving back to the our great city

This theme week will include focusing on Nature and all the activities possible relating to that. We will have ziplining with Adventures Out West, taking a trip to the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Sanctuary, rafting with Arkansas River Tours, Ranchhand work with local farms/ranches, and an Overnight camping trip located at our resident camp- Camp Shady Brook. Activities will include paddle boarding/kayaking, fishing, and survival techniques.
