Ever wonder what impact at the YMCA really looks like? Join us for our YMCA Impact Tours, an immersive experience designed to showcase how your support powers transformational programs and services across the Pikes Peak Region.

Held every other month, each tour offers a unique opportunity to witness a program in action, meet Y staff and participants, and hear firsthand stories of strength, resilience, and community connection.
Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at how YMCA programs support local teens and strengthen our community. In March, we’re spotlighting RAD (Real Alternatives to Drugs and Drinking), a teen-led program that creates fun, safe Friday night events for high school students.
By offering an alternative to parties, RAD helps keep students safe while still providing the social connection and excitement teens want. RAD was started by Brandon Pappas, a Palmer Ridge High School student, to help change the culture of drugs and drinking that impacts many high schools across the country. Today, the program has chapters at Palmer Ridge High School and Lewis-Palmer High School.

During this tour, guests got a firsthand look at our Diverse Abilities Adaptive Swimming Lessons, seeing how instructors tailor one-on-one instruction to each swimmer’s needs. Participants built water safety skills and confidence at their own pace, giving families a clear view of the program’s impact.

The Turkey Trot is a beloved holiday tradition that brought more than 4,000 participants together. This tour offered a behind-the-scenes look at packet pick-up, where community camaraderie met mission impact. Visitors learned how this annual 5K helps ensure access to the YMCA for neighbors in need across the Pikes Peak Region.

This tour highlighted the Middle School Initiative, a no-cost, high-impact program that supports local tweens as they navigated one of life’s most formative stages. Visitors gained a firsthand look at how the Y fostered belonging, leadership, and wellness through intentional after-school programming.

Our first tour spotlighted NeuroPong, an evidence-based program supporting those living with Parkinson’s disease. Participants learned how something as simple as table tennis could improve balance, cognition, and social engagement — and how community support makes it possible.
