Moving for better balance

Moving For Better Balance is a 12-week evidence-based fall prevention program designed to help participants improve their balance, flexibility, mobility, as well as increase their confidence in doing everyday activities. The program utilizes the principles and movements of Tai Chi. The entire class can be done in a chair!

As part of our mission, the Y seeks to support every older adult with their desire to stay active and healthy in spirit, mind and body.

Because falls are the leading cause of injuries among older adults, the Y offers a fall prevention program for seniors: Moving for Better Balance. Classes are offered at a variety of locations in our region, including YMCA facilities, senior centers, and other community locations in El Paso & Teller Counties.
