My professional camping and YMCA background began over two decades ago at my first Y camp in Holly, Michigan. I have worked mostly in the Midwest, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. I am thrilled to now be in the beautiful Mountain west, specifically here in Colorado, working for Camp Shady Brook and the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region. My family and I are excited to be part of this community and look forward to many years building great camp memories. Camp Shady Brook is a safe place where you and your family can grow closer together participating in activities that are enriching, educational and fun. I have a long history with YMCA programming. Growing up, I was involved with preschool, swim lessons, youth sports and swim team at the Y, as well as frequenting the gym. It was after serving my first summer as a day camp counselor that I decided to dedicate my life to the YMCA camping movement. I received my bachelor’s degree in Youth Development from Springfield College (formerly known as the International YMCA Training School). I have a passion for developing intentional, outcome-based programming and sharing my love for the outdoors with young people. I have served on the leadership teams of several other summer camps specializing in program opportunities from sailing to mountain biking to wilderness survival. I could not be more thrilled to be a part of the magic here at Camp Shady Brook.
