Before and After-School Child Care Snow Policies

District 2—Bricker/Turman

The YMCA Before Care program begins at 6:30am at Bricker Elementary and Turman Elementary. If school has not been put on a delay or has not been cancelled before 6:30am we will open for our Before School program. If the following situations occur, please follow the proper procedure. If you have any questions with the policy, please contact your site director or call the YMCA Child Care Office at 329.7229.

  • If school is on delayed start: The YMCA program will not offer before care. The YMCA will open for After School Care at the regular scheduled time and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled: The YMCA program will open at the Southeast YMCA at 8:30am and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled while your child is in school: The YMCA program will not offer care.

In any of the above situations the YMCA reserves the right to cancel the program due to hazardous road conditions. Our main concern is for the safety of your children, your family, and our staff.


District 8—Fountain

The YMCA Before Care program begins at 6am at the Fountain Valley YMCA. If school has not been put on a delay or has not been cancelled before 6am we will open for our Before School program. If the following situations occur, please follow the proper procedure. If you have any questions with the policy, please contact your site director or call the YMCA Child Care Office at 329.7229.

  • If school is on delayed start: The YMCA program will offer care on a delayed start at 8am. The YMCA will open for After School Care at the regular scheduled time and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled: The YMCA program will open at the Founatin Valley YMCA at 8am and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled while your child is in school: The YMCA program will not offer care.

District 11—McAuliffe/Trailblazer/West

The YMCA Before Care program begins at 6:30am at McAuliffe Elementary, Trailblazer Elementary and West Elementary. If school has not been put on a delay or has not been cancelled before 6:30am we will open for our Before School program. If the following situations occur, please follow the proper procedure.   • If school is on delayed start: The YMCA program will offer care on a delayed start at 8:30am. The YMCA will open for After School Care at the regular scheduled time and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled: The YMCA program will open at the Downtown YMCA at 8:30am and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled while your child is in school: The YMCA program will not offer care.

District 12—Gold Camp/Pinon Valley

The YMCA Before Care program begins at 6:30am at Gold Camp Elementary and Pinon Valley Elementary. If school has not been put on a delay or has not been cancelled before 6:30am we will open for our Before School program. If the following situations occur, please follow the proper procedure.   • If school is on delayed start: The YMCA program will offer care on a delayed start at 8:30am. The YMCA will open for After School Care at the regular scheduled time and will close at 6pm.

District 20—Edith Wolford Elementary

The YMCA Before Care program begins at 6:30am at Edith Wolford Elementary. If school has not been put on a delay or has not been cancelled before 6:30am we will open for our Before School program.   • If school is on delayed start: The YMCA program will offer care on a delayed start at 8:30am. The YMCA will open for After School Care at the regular scheduled time and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled: The YMCA program will open at the Grace Best Elementary or the Briargate YMCA at 8:30am and will close at 6pm. Please see Site Director for details.
  • If school is cancelled while your child is in school: The YMCA program will not offer care.

Monument Academy

The YMCA Before Care program begins at 6:30am at Monument Academy. If school has not been put on a delay or has not been cancelled before 6:30am we will open for our Before School program. If the following situations occur, please follow the proper procedure. If you have any questions with the policy, please contact your site director or call the YMCA Child Care Office at 329.7229.

  • If school is on delayed start: The YMCA program will offer care on a delayed start at 8:30am. The YMCA will open for After School Care at the regular scheduled time and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled: The YMCA program will open at Grace Best Elementary at 8:30am and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled while your child is in school: The YMCA program will not be open for care at Monument Academy. If you need care we will offer care at Grace Best Elementary until 6pm. The YMCA will not offer transportation. Parents are responsible for the transportation of their child(ren) from Monument Academy to Grace Best Elementary at the time of dismissal and parents will need to pick-up child(ren) by 6pm.

District 38

The YMCA Before Care program begins at 6:30am at all District 38 Elementary Schools. If school has not been put on a delay or has not been cancelled before 6:30am we will open for our Before School program. If the following situations occur, please follow the proper procedure. If you have any questions with the policy, please contact your site director or call the YMCA Child Care Office at 329.7229.

  • If school is on delayed start: The YMCA program will offer care at Grace Best Elementary on a delayed start at 8:30am. The children will be transported from Grace Best Elementary to their appropriate schools by District 38 transportation. All participants must arrive to Grace Best no later than 9:45am for morning transportation. The YMCA will open for After School Care at individual sites and will close at 6pm. Please send a sack lunch with your child in the event that school is cancelled.
  • If school is cancelled: The YMCA program will open at Grace Best Elementary at 8:30am for all day care. The YMCA will close at 6pm. Please send a sack lunch with your child.
  • If school is cancelled while your child is in school: The YMCA program will be open at the time of dismissal at Grace Best Elementary until 6pm. D38 Transportation will transport your child(ren) from their own elementary school to Grace Best Elementary at the time of dismissal and parents will need to pick their child up by the normal closing time of 6pm.

District 49—Banning Lewis Ranch

The YMCA Before Care program begins at 6am at Banning Lewis Ranch Academy. If school has not been put on a delay or has not been cancelled before 6am we will open for our Before School program. If the following situations occur, please follow the proper procedure. If you have any questions with the policy, please contact your site director or call the YMCA Child Care Office at 329.7229.

  • If school is on delayed start: The YMCA program will offer care on a delayed start at 8am. The YMCA will open for After School Care at the regular scheduled time and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled: The YMCA program will open at the Briargate YMCA at 8am and will close at 6pm.
  • If school is cancelled while your child is in school: The YMCA program will not offer care.
